The academic course will take place in Skopje in the period 03 – 17 of July 2005. The participants will be around 30 foreign students from universities all around Europe, as well as 20 students from Macedonia, working both on the organization on the course and the lectures.
The subject of the course is: Food, Wine… the BEST of Macedonia.
The participants will have the chance to attend a two week academic course, compliant to the European Credit Transfer System. The course is organized by BEST-Skopje in cooperation with the faculty of Agriculture and Food.
The official language used during the course will be English. In accordance all of the lectures will be held in this language. The course will consist of 42 hours of academic lectures and company/farm visits in a period of 14 days. The lectures will be held by professors from the “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje At the Faculti of Agriculture and Food.
During the course besides the lectures on the faculty, organized visits to the production sites of agricultural and food products are also planed. They will be accompanied by demonstrators from the companies, which are going to make lectures on the place of the production sites. With this visits the students, ours and the foreign, will be introduced to the capacity and possibilities of the Macedonian agricultural and food industry, as the first step for future cooperation.At the end of the course the participants will be obliged to take a test, made in accordance with the course lectures. The participants that will pass the test will acquire a certificate that they have successfully completed the course.
And not only that! You will enjoy the beautiful nature of Macedonia and swim in the crystal - clear water of one of the most wonderful lakes in the world – Ohrid Lake. You will visit some of the most beautiful Byzantine churches and monasteries, walk on 800 years old Stone Bridge and 2000 years old Kale Fortress and bargain with the merchants at Skopje 's Old Bazaar. Discover the unique mixture between the Western culture and the Orient..!
Macedonia is also known for our traditional cuisine and the exceptional red wine! So forget about diets when you come here! :)
But don't get too serious – Macedonians are best known for their hospitality! Join a two week adventure and just for a moment be on-line with us! The fabulous night life and the parties are something you are going to remember many years after this BEST summer course!
