There are two international airports in Macedonia – one in Skopje and the other in Ohrid. Ohrid airport is not much used out of the summer season.
Skopje airport "Petrovec" (phone: +389 2 3 148 333) is only 25 km away from the city center. There are regular and charter flights from many major European cities to Skopje and Ohrid by domestic and foreign air companies MAT, Adria Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Croatia Airlines, KLM, Malev, Turkish Airlines, JAT, Czech airlines etc.
There are no bus lines from the airport to Skopje center. Take a taxi and don't accept price which is more than 10 – 13 € (600 - 750 den.). Do some barging :-)
Other airports near Skopje which can be used for connection are:

There is NO railway in Ohrid. You can use the train lines to Skopje or Bitola. There are no international train lines to Bitola, the only line is from Skopje.
All the trains arrive at Railway Station in Skopje (phone: +389 2 3164 255). The Main Bus Station and the Railway Station are next to each other. There are NO train lines from Sofia (Bulgaria) and Tirana (Albania). To come to Skopje you can use one of the everyday international train lines:
www.mz.com.mk - Macedoinan railways
If you travel by bus to Ohrid the best (sometimes the only) way is first to come to Skopje.
The Main Bus station in Skopje (phone: +389 2 2466 011) serves buses from Tirana (Albania), Sofia (Bulgaria), Belgrade (Serbia&Montenegro), Zagreb (Croatia), Ljubljana (Slovenia) and Istanbul (Turkey), which run daily, and buses from some European countries (Germany), which can run twice, three times a week and are not very expensive. There are no direct busses from Thessaloniki (Greece).
Most of the busses arrive at the Main Bus Station, but there are some that don't. The Main Bus Station and the Railway Station are next to each other.
To come to “Eurotel” you can use connections to Struga and Ohrid. Eurotel is couple kilometers from Struga and 14 km from Ohrid.
Download Road Trip to JAM v.2 (pdf ~760KB) with maps, prepared for you by Chombe and Andreja.
We will arange direct busses from Skopje to "Eurotel". They will cost you less than regular buses and will be only for Jamboree 2005 participants. For more info visit this page later...
From Skopje there are frequent daily buses to Struga and Ohrid. Struga is closer to Eurotel, but there are more busses to Ohrid. You can take a bus in a Main Skopje Bus Station - the same bus station where most of the international busses arive and that is next to the Railway Station. One way bus ticket to Struga or Ohrid will cost you about 7 Euro (420 den.) and return ticket about 11 Euro (650 den.).
From Bitola there are also daily regular busses to Struga and Ohrid but are less frequent. Bitola is closer to Ohrid and the bus ticket is cheaper (about a half price of that from Skopje).
If you arrive in Ohrid at the same bus station take a bus to Struga and tell the driver to leave you at "Eurotel". The bus ticket will cost you no more than 1 euro (no more than 60 den.). You can also take taxi to Eurotel and will cost you no more than 4 euro (no more than 250 den.).
If you arrive in Struga you can walk to Eurotel (~20 min.) or you can take a taxi to take you there. The taxi is cheap and will cost you no more than 1 euro (no more than 60 den.).
Note: With taxi there is no additional charge reflecting the number of passengers.
Note: "Eurotel" is pronounced as is written, not as in English.
There is NO railway in Ohrid.
