Jamboree 2005 - BEST Skopje

What is alumni jam?

Alumni JAM Skopje 2005 is an event organised for the first time especially for alumni and will be held between 13th - 16th October in Ohrid, Macedonia, in parallel to the Jamboree for BESTies. The aim of this Alumni JAM is to give alumni an opportunity to meet each other again, enjoying the BEST spirit of this Jamboree 2005 together with the other BESTies from all over Europe.

Programme

LBG Skopje has prepared a special programme so that BEST alumni could fully enjoy their stay on the shores of the beautiful Ohrid Lake.The alumni programme of this Alumni JAM includes both leisure activities and working sessions.

During the 14th and 15th October the alumni will have the chance to see why the city of Ohrid and Ohrid Lake are under UNESCO protection as a world cultural and natural inheritance. There will be excursions to the old part of the city with visit of the most important and most unique monuments, as well as an excursion to the locality named St.Naum with visit to the monastery and the underwater springs surrounded by the untouched nature.

There will be also some discussion sessions, where the alumni will be able to discuss on different topics related to the BEST alumni in the future and their involvement in the Alumni Network.

Thursday 13th - Arrival Day

Welcome party in Ohrid

Friday 14th

09:00-10:00 Breakfast
10:00-10:30 Transfer from hotel to Ohrid
10:30-14:00 Visit of the old part of the city (St.Sophia, St.Kaneo, Plaosnik, Samuil's Fortress, Antique Theatre, The Upper Gate, St. Clement, The Lower Gate, National Museum, Lapidarium...)
14:00-15:00 Lunch in a nice restaurant
15:00-17:30 Free time (beach / boat tour over the lake / caffe bars / shopping / depends on the weather conditions and your special requests, what you'd like to do)
17:30-18:00 Transfer back to Eurotel
18:00-20:00 Discussion session: "How do you see BEST alumni in the future?"
20:00-21:00 Dinner
21:00-..:.. Party :)

Saturday 15th

09:00-10:00 Breakfast
10:00-11:00 Transfer from hotel to St.Naum
11:00-14:00 Monastery visit + boat trip to the underwater springs + freetime
14:00-15:00 Lunch in another nice restaurant
15:00-17:30 Free time (in St.Naum or back in Ohrid, it depends on the weather mostly)
17:30-18:00 Transfer back to Eurotel
18:00-20:00 Discussion session: "What would you need to be involved in an Alumni Network?"
20:00-21:00 Dinner
21:00-..:.. Party :)

Participants and fee

Every alumni who is interested to be involved in the development of the Alumni Network in the future, as well as every alumni who wants to feel the BEST Jamboree spirit again with the other alumni and BESTies, can participate to the Alumni JAM Skopje 2005. In general, all you need is to be an alumni and to be ready to spend 4 unforgettable days (and nights!) with your old and new BEST friends!

The total fee for alumni that want to attend this alumni programme will be 60 euro, regardless of the country they are coming from.

The number of participants is unlimited, so don't worry, there is enough place for everybody who wants to come :-)

Accomodation and food

The accomodation will be in "Eurotel", a hotel on the shores of Ohrid Lake, the same hotel where the participants of the Jamboree will be hosted. The discussion sessions will be held in a special room in the hotel and the parties will be in the big hall of the hotel, with presence of over 600 BESTies and alumni.

The breakfast and the dinner will be served in the hotel and the lunch will be served in some nice restaurants in Ohrid.
