The plays by Witkacy (Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz) are the “salt and pepper” of the Polish 20th-century theatre. Served in right amounts, they turn every production into a gourmet feast.
One of those feasts is The Mad Man and the Nun, perfectly staged by Krzysztof Jasinski, which has continued to satisfy the appetites of theatre lovers for 18 (!) seasons. Witkacy’s absurd sense of humor, interesting decorations by Krzysztof Tyszkiewicz, amazing stage effects, full-of-expression music by Jan Kanty Pawluskiewicz, and last but not least – fantastic actors: altogether over 100 minutes of fun and at least as many reasons for watching the show!
