“Hamlet” is a text that has been already mythicised. We could transform the “Hamlet” exercise into an investigation of our own personality, i.e. into an endless occupation indeed. My sincere wish was to provide the actors with at least one truthful second of stage time comprising something that belongs to them only and being at the same time their cross-point with “Hamlet”.

Lilia Abadjieva

The character of Hamlet in Lilia Abadjieva’a interpretation has no “character”. He is neither a rebel, nor a philosopher, nor a melancholiac. In one of the scenes of this performance “children” recite probable versions on “Hamlet”, depriving of their meaning all the interpretations of the personnage, leaving in the end its naked essence- to be a puzzle capable of incorporating all kind of motifs and characters.

Ina Shkarova "Literaturen vestnik"

We already ask ourselves- how did we survive until now without Lilia Abadzieva?

Dimitar Staykov, “24 chasa”

In short…the performance could be sealed by “Lilia Abadzieva Style”.
