| “Love for Sale”- in 1930 Brecht wanted to make
a play with this title. He wrote two with different titles: “The Seven
Deadly Sins of the Petit Bourgeois” and “The Good Man from Sezuan." Jutta
Czurda goes back to the sources- love as a goods for sale is something
which is true all over the world. For the 100th anniversary of Brecht’s
birthday at the City Theatre in Furth, she would ding about the “Red Moon
of Soho." Besides the numerous “hits” by Brecht, there is no possibility
for relaxation and it could be very difficult to present something which
known to everybody as new. Those who were almost certain that the sale
of the body could be a pleasure are sure to hear something from Brecht,
Czurda and the band that accompanies her. Did you expect anything else
from this woman? In her art, dancing or singing, the most important thing
is to get away from the untruths of love.
Gina Pietsch The last word uttered at the evening dedicated to Brecht was “us”. It sounds peaceful and wonderful. Fear and loneliness, violence and the impossibility to master the feelings were much talked about before. The meaningless of love. Bernd Noack
