It is a performance without speech, a theatre
of silence, a blend of drama and movement. Characters with no names and
no past meet together in a space which they are going to fill with objects
and their obsessions.
With Empreintes, Mederic Legro and his company
of actors fill, explore and complement the space of their theatre with
invisible traces. Those traces have the following names: scar, memory,
desire, flaw…A precise theatre where the lights provide this choreographic
piece with the necessary power of an already innate aesthetics.
…The theatre of Mederic Legros breaks the tradition
of a theatre where one can observe a beginning or an end and he starts
the performance where it is, i.e. all over the place. That is, in everyday
life, a life that makes no sense at all. That is, at the beginning of the
performance. With Empreintes, the play follows an altogether alienated
ritual which is close to the bizarre…Characters with no name and no past
meet in a space and one is not certain whether it is a precise place. Maybe
a shelter or a refuge.
There, the prisoners or the refugees, that is
the artists of Empreintes perform various movements based on their memories.
With these approximate, yearned for or awkward movements they fill the
space with objects and their obsessions. Flowers, windows, suit cases,
a record player… OUEST-FRANCE
