Quality, tradition and success are the leading principles of Lozar Agricultural Plant in Veles, whose basic activity is production of grains, fruits, and grapes; processing of grapes into wine and liquours; dairy production and raising early and late agricultural crops. The general managing duties are performed by Mr. Marjan Gjosev, a graduate agronomist. Gjosev has been performing managing tasks in the plant for years. First, he was the head of the Vodostopanstvo Makedonija section only to later take on the leading role in the vine nursery, plantation and vine grafting division. His veteran managing experience includes the posts of the head of the cooperation section and trade and catering section, and finally, the number one man in the largest agricultural plant Lozar, position he was assigned to after 14-year successful work Parallel to the production activity the plant owns restaurants in attractive locations on Lake Velesko, and offers various water supplying services, cooperation with individual farmers and other accompanying services. The company employs 1094 full-time workers and 170 part-time, or seasonal workers. The production capacity of the plant is covered by 8,860 hectares of land 24 hectares of which are used for orangeries and 7,634 for outdoor produce. To better store, process and preserve the quality of wine, milk and meat, the company has a 24,000-ton wine cellar, 5,000-ton refrigerator, a dairy with 20-ton daily production of milk, a slaughterhouse for 100 heads, and a pig farm for rearing 30,000 pigs. Forty percent of the overall production are meant for export with a tendency of increasing this percentage. The highly professional managing team sees the company's perspectives in the transformation of the ownership with private capital dominating. They foresee a company that will witness an increase in the usage of the existing capacity, improvement in the finalisation process of wine and natural juice production and bottling, dairy and meat processing, processing of fruits and vegetables, and construction of irrigation systems.
