International Jury:

Award winning Sven Nykvist once said that the eyes are the windows of the soul and it's up to the D.O.P. to catch that soul.

Now at the 19th International Film Camera Festival in Bitola we will present the 3 winning films:

3. Powder keg - the D.O.P. Milan Spasic
2. Character - the D.O.P. Rogier Stoffers
1. Central Station - the D.O.P. Walter Carvalho

We now have the pleasure to present the award winning D.O.P.s:

The Bronze Camera 300 goes to:

D.O.P. Milan Spasic

The breathtaking reflection of the situation in Belgrade on the night before the Dayton Agreement, Milan Spasic catches the energy of the chaotic and violent moments of this crucial time.

The Silver Camera 300 goes to:

D.O.P. Rogier Stoffers
for the film "Character"

He gets the prize for the powerful camera work, the visual style, the precise picture of the period. Rogier Stoffers keeps up the energy, so the audience doesn't lose the tension and interest for the film and the characters.

The Golden Camera 300 goes to:

D.O.P. Walter Carvalho
for the film
"Central Station"

It is a beautiful film. Emotional, touching and vibrant feelings. Walter Carvalho catches the soul of the human and makes it unforgettable.

The camera work and story melt together and become one. The Jury has the strong impression that Walter Carvalho has the spirit of the legendary Sven Nykvist.
