STORY:
GOODBYE 20TH CENTURY or THE FUTURE IS AS SCREWED UP AS THE PAST!

The story is set in the Balkans in the near and distant future and past, during three periods of time. It begins in post-apocalyptic 2019, continues a 100 years earlier, and ends on December 31st 1999, the last night of our time, a few seconds before the arrival of the thirs millenium. The protagonists of the Story are: The Merry Santa Claus who in rage destroys our world, a Warrior who can not die, the people who are condemned to immortal life, a Dead Colonel, a Prophet dressed as a Barber, a Woman tattoed from head to toe, a Priest-Killer, a Man with hair playing on his rifle . . .

GOODBYE 20TH CENTURY is a film of a generation which, in the last ten years grows up na dlives at the treshold of a war that neither begins nor ends!

Darko MITREVSKI I Aleksandar POPOVSKI- directors

Darko Mitrevski (born 1971) and Aleksandar Popovski (born 1969) both born in Skopje, belong to the youngest generation of Macedonian directors, schooled at the faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje. They have been working as a team for ten years now. They started as film amateurs, enrolled in the faculty at the same time and graduated with the same work LIGHT GREY (1993, screened in the competition of the 14th International Film Camera Festival "Manaki Brothers" in Bitola) a student's feature omnibus film consisting of 3 stories. They did several joint theater performances, made their debut on television together with TV Series, music videos, TV commercials plus comics, cartoons, newspaper articles, exhibitions. They founded their small Film Company "Mirko and Slavko- First Partizan Production" and then shot their first feature-length film GOODBYE 20TH CENTURY.

Vladimir SAMOILOVSKI - DOP

Born 1953 in Skopje. Since 1976 works as a camera assistant. He collaborated with many recognized D.O.P.s and worked in many films as a camerman. Up to now he collaborated in more than 50 long feature films and the same number of shorts and documentaries. As a D.O.P. he starts on one American co-production in 1988 in the second unit. In the meantime he has made one TV commercial series and music video clips. As independent D.O.P. he ha smade his debut in the film MACEDONIAN SAGA (1993, dir. Branko Gapo) for which he was awarded at the 14th International Film Camera Festival in Bitola as Best Debutant and with the "Bronze Camera 300". As above mentioned, the same year 1993, Vladimir Smaoilovski participated as a D.O.P. in Bitola with the omnibus LIGHT GREY (the story DEVIL IN THE HEART, Dir. Darko Mitrevski).

He has recently shot (as D.O.P.) the story FAIRY TALE, a new Student's omnibus.
